Do I need a Visitor's Visa to travel to New Zealand?
If you are a citizen of one of the following countries which have visa waiver agreements with New Zealand, you do not need to apply for a Visitor Visa if you plan to visit New Zealand for 3 months or less.

British citizens and other British passports holders who have evidence of the right to live permanently in the United Kingdom, may be granted a Visitor's Permit valid for 6 months on arrival.
Visa waiver visitor must:
* hold a valid ticket to a country you have the right of entry to, and
* have sufficient money to support yourself during your stay, and
* hold a passport valid for 3 months beyond the date you are leaving New Zealand, and
* only wish to visit New Zealand for the time granted on arrival (if you wish to visit for a longer period you will need to apply for a Visitor's Visa).
How do I apply for a Work Visa or Permit?
You may apply for a Work Visa or Permit if you:
hold an offer of employment for which you are qualified and there are no suitable New Zealanders available or
You meet one of the special categories or exchanges the Government has approved.
You may apply for a Work Visa before you travel to New Zealand (the total stay may be up to three years) or
re-enter New Zealand if you hold a Work Permit.
You may apply for a further Work Permit, if you arrived in New Zealand on a Work Visa. The maximum normal
stay is three years from the date you first arrived in New Zealand.
If you are already in New Zealand as a visitor you may apply for a Work Permit for a total stay of nine months
from the date of your arrival as a visitor.
